BestBuddies mission is "Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities"

Chelmsford High School has implemented a BestBuddies program in which I was an active participant. The program had many opportunities where students within BestBuddies could volunteer to help support athletic teams and clubs with various tasks that they require. Some of these tasks were handling equipment, managing water stations and being an overall positive influence and motivator for players and coaching staff.

It was there that I was able to build relationships with so many awesome kids. They are what inspired me to do more. Today, my sister Mary and I have helped to raise over $10,000 for the BestBuddies organization through multiple fundraising efforts.

Some of these include:

  • Sponsoring BestBuddies for the Boston Marathon

  • Holding raffles where proceeds go to BestBuddies

  • Charity Basketball Tournament
